Before I had my cleaning and organizing business, I was a teacher and researcher. Now I absolutely love getting to use my teaching background and my love for learning to help others who are just starting out.
I am passionate about eco-friendly cleaning and helping people learn to deal with their clutter so they can feel happier and more productive at home (and in their workspace too!)
I live in Kalamazoo, Michigan with my son and our 2 cats. We enjoy playing video games and board games, watching movies, reading, traveling, and swimming.
When I first started my business I worked part time for a woman who had a cleaning business. It was such a valuable experience to have a mentor! She was very supportive of me getting my own clients and starting my own full time business. I learned so many things along the way. I especially liked the flexibility of my schedule compared to past jobs. I was also making really good money.
When I started doing this full time back in 2018, I lived in Bloomington, Indiana and was averaging $750-1250 per week (before taxes). I usually worked 5-6 days a week and averaged about $200-300 per day. During the pandemic I lost a lot of clients and regained new ones. I relocated and moved my business to Kalamazoo, Michigan in 2020. I raised prices in 2021 and now into 2022 I am out in the field driving or cleaning about 10-20 hours per week and averaging $500-1000 per week before taxes.
Depending on the amount of childcare I have and availability to work, my schedule can be pretty flexible and I can rely on a certain amount of money coming in each week based on regular clients as well as rotating incoming clients. I do this by having lots of systems set up to bring in new clients and win the loyalty of new clients.
